Why mill instead of just overlaying?+
Milling keeps grades, drainage slopes, and door clearances intact. An overlay without milling creates trip lips and chases water back toward buildings.
What depth is standard?+
1.5"–2" for most commercial lots. Municipal roads may mill 2"–3" depending on the wearing-course spec.
What happens to the millings?+
Avello recycles millings into RAP (recycled asphalt pavement) used in future base courses.
Do you mill in winter?+
Milling can be done year-round; paving requires hot-mix plants which typically close mid-November to mid-April in NY.
